We have all heard of the story of Newton. An apple fell on his head and he asked himself: what is pulling the apple down? If apple can fall on the head, then why does the Moon not come down and fall on our head? After a series of questions and a lot of work, he discovered gravity.
But have you wondered: What makes Newton different from others? He had the habit of asking questions. Millions of people had seen an apple fall before Newton. But no one asked questions the way Newton did.
Not just gravity, but every innovation around you: Phone, Water bottle, Pen is the result of someone who never stopped questioning. In fact, the human race would have improved if we did not ask questions persistently.
Do you know about a subject that develops the habit of questioning? Physics.
How am I able to sit on this chair?
How am I able to breathe?
How am I able to see you?
How are you able to see me?
Physics teaches us an important skill: the habit of asking questions. Physics makes us innovative. Brilliant thinkers and innovators never stop asking questions because they know that this is the best way to go deeper into a subject.
In fact, Eric Schmidt, the ex-CEO of Google, said, “We run this company on questions, not answers.” He knows that if you build a company on the culture of asking questions, then you automatically drive innovation in the company.
Elon Musk once said, "Physics is a good framework for thinking, Boil things down to their fundamental truths and reason up from there.'
And as an extra advantage, if you understand Physics, you understand the world around you better. You realise that you live in a beautiful world and so many interesting things are happening around you every moment.
Unfortunately, the schools do not teach Physics. Physics is currently taught only for exams. Physics is treated like paragraphs and formulae. Children spend years learning and yet never really appreciate the subject.
That is why, Open Door is launching Physics courses called Unbox soon.
Unbox is a set of Physics courses on topics such as Light, Heat, Motion and Force. Children, anywhere in the world, can install 'Open Door Unbox' app on Google Play Store or Apple Store, and start exploring Physics.
